  • Why does Moses strike the rock instead of speaking to the rock?
  • Why is God so severe on Moses’ disobedience?
  • How do the Edomites respond to Moses’ request?
  • How do the children of Israel respond to this forced detour?
  • What does Jesus use the story about the snakes to teach? (John 3:14-15)
  • What does the bronze snake represent?

PRAYER

Ask the Lord to show you areas in your life that are “killing” you. Ask Him to show you His remedy and then determine to walk in obedience to whatever He shows you.

  • What does God promise to those who obey Him?
  • What does He promise to those who will not listen and obey God?
  • What makes a person hostile toward God?
  • How are those who are disobedient described?
  • Why does God not allow the firstborn of animal be offered to the Lord?
  • What does it cost a man to redeem items dedicated to the Lord?

PRAYER

Thank the Lord that the curse of sin and its just penalty are born by Christ so that I may experience His blessing.

Leviticus 1:1 – 4:35

  • What does the ‘laying hands’ upon the head of the burnt offering symbolize?
  • In what way does God make provision in the sacrificial system for the different classes of people in Israel?
  • How much of the sacrifice is to be burned upon the altar? What does this tell you about God?
  • Read Romans 12:1. How is this offering similar? What kind of sacrifice does the Lord desire from believers?

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

  • How do the priests benefit from the grain offering?
  • What does the grain offering represent?
  • What four groups of people are mentioned in the sin offering?

PRAYER

Thank the Lord Jesus for dying in your place. Giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:12-14  Sins atoned and Heaven gained!

  • Name the pieces of the priestly garments and give at least one outstanding feature of each piece.

PRAYER

Thank the Father that Jesus Christ is the High Priest who prays for us by name – even at this very moment.

  • Describe what the plagues have done to the Egyptian economy.

PRAYER

Remember the words of the old hymn? “What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Oh, precious is the flow that makes me white as snow. No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus.” Thank God for the blood of Jesus Christ which was shed for the remission of sin.
